We went away for the weekend for my son's 13th birthday. He had a friend come along. We did R/C Cars, kites, hung out and looked for sand dollars.

Waterfall at Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park (Big Sur, CA)
I went on a road trip with my husband and his parents up the coast of California. In a guidebook we had picked up, we saw a picture of a hidden cove that looked like paradise. We were determined to find it. After a long search, we finally found it. Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park!

It was so worth the time. A twenty minute hike through thousands of redwood trees from the entrance of the state park lead to this beautiful waterfall. The water was a shade of blue I had never seen before. It was like we were in a movie!

Oregon Sunset (Bullards Beach, Bandon, OR)
I can still remember walking the beaches of the Oregon Coast with my husband, Brian, all those many nights on the Oregon Coast. If was my favorite place on earth during my favorite, most colorful hour. Walking hand in hand, we needn't say a word as we listened to the swooshing of the waves against the shoreline, the cries of hungry gulls, and the rush of the wind between the rocks.

Moving to California was a big step for me, and though I love the sunshine, I still miss these peaceful nights with my husband, just the two of us, walking with God. I pray that area never changes.

Pink Wegelia (Dartmouth, Nova Scotia)
My variegated pink wegelia is gorgeous this year, so many blooms it looks like cotton candy! This one blooms on last year's growth so if you don't trim too much one year it will bloom very well the next. Over the years I have layered lower branches underneath the ground, weighted down with a brick or rock (leave end of branch above ground). Be sure to leave the branch attached to the main (mother) shrub.

Beautiful Corpus Christi (Corpus Christi, TX)
We go visit Corpus Christi, Texas at least once a year. This is a picture I took while walking on the beach. You can almost smell that salty breeze!

Potato Planter
I saw several articles on how easy it is to grow potatoes so decided to give it a try. These are in about 3 inches of soil and doing super well. I was so happy to see the first signs of them blooming!

Online tips helped me to arrive at this notion ! Not sure where. Several places and videos showing how EASY it is to home-grow spuds and with very little effort !
