Turn Pine Wood Furniture into Objects...I have always loved wooden furniture. Unfortunately, in South Africa, wooden furniture is very expensive. The only wooden furniture that is affordable are items made from pine wood, which does not really fit in with my taste in home décor. Refurbishing a DresserEveryone has an old dresser or end table in their garage, right? Well, times are hard and I'm strapped for money, so what I did is hand sanded an old dresser my mom/dad gave me one year for Christmas. It was out of style and I definitely did not want to get rid of it.

"Vintage" CupboardI purchased an unfinished cupboard and primed it. Next I painted it gold and then a coat of red. I made it look old by sanding areas where it might have been worn. I added 3 pictures from and old calendar with decoupage glue and varnished over to protect it.

Bentwood Tables With Tile TopsThis was made out of bentwood. I used it as a BBQ table. It has a plywood top that is covered with broken tile. The tile can be found from a tile company.

Chair Seats Made of Old BeltsMake a chair seat from old belts! I used as many leather belts as I got after my mom died a couple years ago and wove them onto where the seat was missing from this chair.

 

Old Window Table

Window Coffee TableHere is a photo of a coffee table I made out of a window. I left the panes in, put in some old items, then bought a piece of plastic for the top. I bought some legs at a Menard's store.

Make a Castle Bed for your ChildI drew the plans for this bed and my husband made it from 2x4's and cheap plywood. It only cost about $50 total for the wood and paint. There is plenty of storage underneath for our son's toys.
