Five Minute No-Sew Throw PillowThis quick and easy throw pillow was made from a pillow sham.
Dragon Scale PillowThis is a fun project using coloured felt to cover a pillow. I used a coverless white accent pillow that I'd had for a decade that had started looking dull. You don't need any sewing skills, you just cut circles and hot glue them on. I love this pop of colour on my black and white bed set.
Fabric CorkboardThis is an easy way to spice up your corkboard. You can change the fabric to suit the room environment. For instance for a baby/toddler's bedroom, I used a whale fabric. You could hang your child's artwork, photos, or awards on it while also having the cork board be a piece of art for the room!
Honeycomb Hexagon Personalized ShelfHoneycomb hexagon shelves are very popular and trendy right now. On handcrafted websites these hexagon shelves range anywhere from $15+ and up for regular plain ones. They are more expensive if you want them to be personalized. I purchased this plain hexagon wooden shelf at Target for $7.
Recycled CurtainsMy daughters are both off to college this fall and I wanted to update their window treatments with something less juvenile, but couldn't find anything I could afford with all my college bills! But in the discount store, I found lace table cloths reduced to $3.
Hair Bow OrganizerAny young girl would be proud to display her hair bows on this personalized bow holder. It's so quick and easy to make too!
Zebra Switch Plate CoversI recently purchased a zebra print comforter set for my daughter's room. To carry out the theme, she wanted zebra print switch plate covers. Instead of purchasing pre-made ones, we decided to create our own from plain, inexpensive switch plate covers.
Recycled Bedspread CraftsI bought a printed, ruffled bedspread, which I suspect is about 40 years old, for $1 at the thrift shop. In good shape, it was a little faded, which made me not want to use it on the bed, but gave it a sort of "vintage" patina. I took it apart and made several matching items to perk up my bedroom.
Prayer Wall HangingUse decorative edge scissors or pinking shears to cut around edge of fabric. Glue to center of craft foam or construction paper. Glue ribbon under each corner of fabric for hanger.
Crayon MobileThe finished project looks good in any kid's room. Make a couple and give them as birthday gifts.
Modge Podge Designer ShelvesAn old shelving unit can be renewed to look like a designer accent piece with just a little ingenuity. Whether you want to give your tired shelves color and life for a child's room or make them look sophisticated for a library, this project will allow you to create a perfect one-of-a-kind look for your specific décor.
