Restoring a Vintage RCA Stereo Cabinet?My grandfather recently passed and I'm looking to restore his RCA stereo cabinet. The left speaker is blown so I'm replacing the speakers. But the 8 track doesn't work (it sounds like its trying to play but it's struggling to wind and it makes loud noises/vibrates when you change tracks) and the record size switch is stuck. Would anyone be able to tell me if the 8 track is salvageable or if there's replacements out there? if there's any manuals/schematics available? Or the best way to go about fixing the other issues? The model number is VTT300W serial number 424310322.
Should I Repair a Zenith Console Stereo?I'm wondering if it's worth the time to troubleshoot/fix this 1968(?) Zenith Circle of Sound console stereo, Y955. I remember that decades ago, it quit working. My grandfather pulled the fuse which was visibly broken (and is still sitting where he left it on the turntable in the picture). He couldn't find a replacement so the repair attempt ended there and it became just a dust collecting piece of furniture.

Problems Playing Recorded VCR Tapes?I am having an unusual problem with our 2 new digital VCRs (LG and JVC). All of a sudden, the picture will freeze and the voice will continue normally (LG). Or (JVC) both the picture and sound will stop (picture freeze, no sound). These were recorded on digital televisions. I managed to get the LG working again by unplugging it from the power source and then turning it on again. I thought to do this because when I pressed the eject button, the machine didn't respond. However, the JVC did not have a machine freezing up problem.
VCR Recording TV Shows Poorly?I have a Symphonic VCR/DVD that plays tapes great but when recording a TV show the picture rolls constantly. When I play a tape that has been recorded on a different VCR it plays the tape great. Does anyone know how to fix it or what the problem is?

Portable DVD Player's Screen Too Dark?We have just purchased a Phillips portable CD/DVD player. The picture is way too dark and the instructions are too complicated for my (very untechnical) brain to work out. TV Keeps Shutting Off?We have a SONY big screen TV that we bought new 8 years ago. We are having some trouble with it now, and wondered if anyone else has had the problem, or knows what it might be. If you watch TV for awhile and then turn it off, and then in a few minutes turn it back on, it shuts off all by itself. Before it shuts itself off, the screen will flash bright green several times, then power right down on its' own.
