My father, Buel "Bill" Pearson, served twenty years in the U.S. Army and was wounded in the Korean War. I was born in 1952 in San Antonio, Texas. The following year, Daddy married my mother. They had three more children, a daughter and two sons. When I was in my 30's, we learned we had a half-brother who was born in Louisiana in 1953. Johnny traveled to North Carolina to meet us and has become an integral part of our family. Daddy died in 1997, never having acknowledged my sister's existence to me or to our siblings.
