Planting Fruit Trees in The Fall?I want to plant lilacs and also some fruit trees. Do you do that in the fall?
What Is This Tree? (Ornamental Plum Tree)I have several of these trees growing in my yard. They are volunteers, meaning they just grew up on their own. I live in the Pacific Northwest (Western Washington near Puget Sound). New ones grow up around the largest tree so I'm assume they are from seed from the tree. They have some white flowers in the spring and the fruit shown in one of the pictures is about the size of a jumbo olive and olive shaped or plum shaped.
Late Maturing Apple Tree?I am trying to find an old apple tree variety that used to grow outside of our house. I know this variety is at least 100 years old and would love to replace the dead tree with a new one of the same variety. It is a late maturing apple, yellowish green in color, sweet and crisp.
When Are Figs Ripe?I have a fig tree that I planted 3 summers ago. It has grown well and is now about 7 feet tall. We have let 4 main shoots remain and cut back the others. We bought it at a flea market and I do not know what kind of fig it is.
Banana Tree (Musa)This banana tree is four years old and has very small bananas on it. I was lucky to take this picture because this year in January, we had 7 inches of snow and it was killed by the snow and cold. I was heartbroken.
Growing a Bradford Pear Tree? This page is about growing a Bradford pear tree. Although not know for their pears, these trees are native to China and are often planted in urban environments.
Growing CrabapplesThis page is about growing crabapples. A hardy deciduous tree that creates a beautiful display of spring flowers and a small, bitter apple fruit.
