Acorn Elves

Acorn ElvesThese are acorns I gathered near Salem, Massachusetts this fall while on a trip there. They came from my husband's ancestor's property where they settled in 1634. I wanted to make some kind of keepsake out of them and found this idea. So Christmas decorations seemed like a fun idea. I also crafted with my 11-year-old granddaugheter and she had fun making them too.

I figured out how to make this wonderful Christmas tree from a plastic bottle. I used a green plastic bottle, but you can use it in a different color, as Christmas trees don't have to always be green. You can also use any other decoration for such a Christmas tree, for example crystals, beaded garlands or even buttons that you can sew with threads if you don't have a suitable wire.
