Burlap_Bag_Advent_Calendar

Burlap Bag Advent CalendarI decided to get crafty and make my own advent calendar, since I was having trouble finding one that I liked. This calendar is very versatile simply made of 24 burlap bags, wooden clothes pins and rope. These small burlap bags are perfect for a piece of candy or a slip of paper with an activity you can do together as a family. I like to fill them with an activity but I like being able to choose to put a treat inside when I am feeling lazy. Each day I fill them before my kids open it, this way I can choose what I am in the mood for doing that day.

Christmas Tradition: Christmas EveOn Christmas Eve, my family has our two girls try to find the Christmas box Mrs. Santa left for them. It always contains a new set of pajama's. After they put on the pajamas, our family drives around town looking at Christmas lights and live nativity scenes in different neighborhoods. We've done this for 21 years and they still love this tradition that officially starts Christmas for them.

Christmas Traditions: Making OrnamentsWhen I was a kid, I always wanted a themed Christmas tree like you see in stores or in the movies. We had the kind of tree with mismatched ornaments that had been handed down or picked up secondhand. No one can really afford to have all their ornaments match, right?
