Crib Pad Melted in Dryer on Clothes?Hi, I am desperate! A babies crib pad melted in my dryer and the "plastic" stuff is all over everything. I've tried quite a few things to get it off. WD-40, Fantastic, Goo Gone and even paint thinner. All brand new baby clothes... I've been working on and off for two days trying to find something that would work. I had been using cold water and detergent for colors, and warm water for whites--until I began working at a local hospital. I want to make sure that I'm killing any harmful microorganisms that are on my clothes when I get home. I have started using hot water with bleach for my whites, which should help--but can anyone give me any tips for colors (what water temperature, best kind of detergent, etc.). Clothing Pills?For some reason, I seem to have an incredible ability to develop pills on my clothing. What causes this and what can be done to eliminate it or at least decrease it? Sometimes I get pills within just a few wearings!! I thought that perhaps it was our water, as it is somewhat hard, but then I noticed that some of my clothes had pills down the front and back, but not on the sleeves! My Dirty, Old, Pitted Tub! Keeping it Clean?I have a very old, pitted porcelain bath tub that I can't afford to refinish or replace. It collects a lot dirt in the pits and I cannot get it clean. it no longer shines at all! It isn't stained, just has hard to remove dirt. I have done the bleach thing, Comet, various cleaners, even some from the janitorial supply house, throughout the years but nothing seems to work (scrubbing bubbles is the best) I have tendonitis in my arm and cannot scrub for long periods of time. Removing Smoke Smell From Wood China Cabinet?Hi, Just bought a used china cabinet from a co-worker who was moving. The cabinet is really nice but they were heavy smokers and everything smells like smoke. I have tried a few home remedies putting scented candles in there, putting a dish of vinegar in there, incense, newspaper, carcoal, etc... but some of it just seems to make it worse. Grout Smell After Toilet Overflow?My young daughter clogged the toilet, when using the bathroom, with too much toilet paper. She flushed the toilet and *everything* overflowed on to the floor. Our floors are 12" x 12" ceramic tile with 1/2" grout lines between each tile. I have tried everything I can possibly think of short of replacing all the grout to remove the foul smell in the bathroom, but to no avail. Any suggestions??? Thank you, Jeni G.

Homemade Laundry Soap Blunder?I just made my first batch of laundry soap (fels naptha, washing soda, borax combo). After sitting for 24 hours, it didn't gel up like it should have. Instead, it serparated into liquid with a waxy, 1 inch top (kinda looks like how fat rises on soup when refrigerated). What did I do wrong? Can it be fixed by re-heating the batch? Does My Dishwasher Need Replacing?My dishwasher is about 8 1/2 years old. It does a terrible job of cleaning; glasses come out with grains of soap on them and look almost greasy! I used to use liquid gel but changed back to powder to see if it would work any better. Also, the inside food catcher (is plastic) and is almost coroded shut. Any way to clear this out? Or should I look at replacing the dishwasher and how do I keep this from happening again? Our water is very hard. Thanks, Deb from Arizona

Sour Smelling Bedding?In the tips section on Sour Smelling clothing, someone keeps writing to use "nappy soaker". What is that? I never heard of a nappy soaker? I have the same problem with sour smelling sheets and bedding no matter what I've tried (and I bathe and deodorize myself every day! But I think it was created from washing my bedding in cold water for years....not a good idea. Now I have sour smelling bedding). Thanks so much, Mia
