Crocheting with Thrifty Store Finds?I am an empty nester who loves to shop at thrift stores. I have came across big bags of t-shirts, really cheap. I also have come across many afghans. With the crochet craze I thought it would be nice if i could combine the two. Some of the t-shirts have stains and some do not. Do you have any suggestions on how I can decorate them using thrift store finds? I bought some potholders and I am going to take a nice short sleeve sweater that I bought from Wal-mart about 5-6 years ago and put two of them on like they are pockets. I think it would good with the open weave look. But do you have any sugestions for combining the crochet material with the t-shirts? i would hate to waste them.

Creative Uses For Empty Light Bulbs?I have empty light bulbs, just normal 60W bulbs with the inside pulled out. The end is open, and I was wondering what I could do with them. Any ideas? Salt Dough Turkey Centerpiece?Several years ago I made a beautiful turkey centerpiece out of salt dough. Unfortunately, I cannot find the instructions. I remember that the dough was rolled out then cut with a pizza cutter into strips. The dough strips were then placed over an inverted glass mixing bowl forming "loops" to create the tail. The rest of the turkey was just formed out of the dough and then baked to harden. Once hardened, you placed a block of foam behind the tail loops into which you inserted real feathers or dried flowers, etc.
I would be overjoyed if anyone has the instructions for this project. I have the salt dough recipe, just need the instructions.

Looking For Transfer Rub Paper?I am trying to find (or figure out how to make) the transfer paper that we used as kids to rub on a face shape, then choose hair, eyes, ears, nose and mouth to complete the picture.
I know it was a waxy type of paper and we could also rub the colored sunday comics and transfer them to another piece of paper.
I know there are tracing books for kids that allow them to complete faces, but I really want to find that waxy transfer paper that we used as kids in the 40s and 50s.
