Instant Receiving Blanket BibMy daughter-in-law needed a bib for spaghetti night and we couldn't find anything. She had an idea to use an old receiving blanket. She cut a slit in it for her head and made a poncho-like bib.

Tie Dirty Diapers In Plastic BagsWhen my wife and I had our first baby, we put a Diaper Genie on on baby shower want list. And we GOT it, but we found out with our second and third child that those bags from the grocery store did just as well.

Check Thrift Stores For Baby ClothesI do volunteer work at a thrift shop. We get hundreds of used and new baby clothes, we sort them and put out only the best for sale. We price them from 50 cents and up, and the monies go to helping those less fortunate in the community.

Use Store Brands DiapersDon't be a label snob. Kirkland was the best for my now 11 year old. When my now 20 year old was diaper age, they were just coming out with the velcro "good" diapers.

Use Dog Poop Bags for DiapersNow that I am through with diapers, I will share one tip. I couldn't always run stinky diapers to the trash outside, so I bought doggy poop bags (the kind you take with you on a walk to clean up after your dog).

Eliminating Diaper Pail OdorInstead of having a stinky diaper pail in my son's room, I use plastic grocery bags stuffed into empty 12 pack soda "fridge packs" and slide the whole thing under the changing table. I hang the bags by the handles off of the Diaper Depot.

Save Newspaper With Birth AnnouncementWhen a new baby is born in the family, keep the local newspaper that the announcement appears in. Hopefully, this will occur the same day the baby is born. Sometimes the announcements are the next day, depending on the time of birth.

Buy Refills Of Baby Wipes To SaveWhen buying baby wipes buy in bulk. That's what we do. We then use an older baby wipes container to store the individual package we are using. We also keep a container of wipes in the vehicle for easy clean up on the road and in our diaper bag.
