New Path Garden AngelHere is the newest angel left in The Path Garden. Once again someone has left a surprise in the garden. Always a treat to find treasures to delight visitors as they stroll through the garden.
Garden: Movable Garden (Lewiston, NY)This is our front door moveable garden, in my garden.
Red Gladiolus (Gillette, WY)This beautiful flower had just bloomed the day I took this photo. This was taken at night time after a nice rain. I thought the water drops on the petals looked amazing.
Garden: Angel Trumpet and Seed PodThis is just one of many Angel Trumpets blooming in my garden. The flower will only last one day and then forms a large seed pod.
Garden: Desert Rose in BloomWhile visiting my friend Tone', I enjoyed her potted dessert rose in full bloom. I imagined what a treat it would be to come across in the desert.
Wildlife: HummingbirdThere are many hummingbirds at my house. We go through 6 to 8 feeders a day. This one obliged for a close up.
Scarlet Darter DragonflyAnother walk in my garden with camera in hand, looking for what will surprise me today. Look what I found perched on one of my garden stakes. He was just sitting there resting and looking around.
Garden: Spotted Tiger LilyIn spite of record breaking heat, to my surprise, these beautiful lilies emerged and lasted a couple of weeks. For the last couple of years they died out and did not make it to full bloom. I guess they made up for it this year.
Painting Left For The "Secret" Path GardenI heard voices in the garden and opened the gate to find a little girl signing my guest book. She had brought the painting to the garden with her dad. She had set it on the ground near a big rock.
Red ZinniaEvery year there are new joys even in the insects in my husband and I's vegetable garden, herb and flower garden.
Getting The Most From Your Hibiscus PlantsIn the pictures below, you will see 2 kinds of Hibiscus; the summer hibiscus, which can be planted with mulch farther north of zone 8, and the regular tropical hibiscus which can be grown as far north as the ground doesn't freeze.
Garden: Bees Pollinating the CornEarly in the morning when I was out picking in the garden, I heard a lot of buzzing going on in the corn. I decided to see who was so busy. I noticed not only bumble bees, but also honey bees working hard on pollinating our corn.
Flowers in a FountainOnce I got my fountain ready for summer, I added just a couple of cut flowers from my garden into the water for some color. I took this picture and could not believe how wonderful it looked. I am planning on framing it for the house.
Garden: True Green RoseA friend had this tiny sprig in a pot and I asked him what it was.He said, "A green rose. You want it, take it!" I took it and when it was 9 inches high I got to see my first real green rose bloom.
Garden: LilyThis is a picture of a beautiful Lily in my garden. I have a lot of flowers blooming now, but I love the colors of this one.
Garden: Hibiscus Finally in BloomEvery winter our Hibiscus plants get hit hard. It takes this long for them to revive, even here in Florida. I am always amazed at how precise mother nature is with flowers.

Garden: Flowers in My YardI love taking pictures of anything in nature. These are flowers that are in my yard. As they bloom, I hurry and take their picture before they disappear for the year. I hope you like them.
Courtyard FountainI have wanted a "water feature" for our courtyard ever since we bought this house, seven years ago. For our anniversary this month, my husband did all this! Isn't that romantic?

Garden: Golden Plums (Louisiana)In spite of the dry conditions in this part of Louisiana, the golden plum crop was abundant. These golden jewels make the very best sweet, yet tart, jelly ever! If you ever get the opportunity to try your hand at making golden plum jelly. You will not be disappointed!

Hummingbird at FeederI was outside and saw there were up to 3 hummingbirds hanging out at the feeder. I decided to run in the house and grab my camera. Luckily, I was able to catch one relaxing on the perch, and it sat still long enough for me to zoom in on it.

Garden: Unknown RoseThis is the only rose on this bush right now. It is always fun to find a bargain at the $.99 store, even if they have taken the name tags off. This is not a miniature rose bush, but it is smaller than most.
Wildlife: Orange ButterflyA butterfly befriended my son. I think it would have hung out on him all day, if we'd stayed outside. I was hoping to catch a picture of it with its wings spread open. So I kept trying to get it to move, until I finally captured it with its wings open!

Flowers With Contrasting ColorsThis is my limelight hydrangea next to my purple garden phlox. I love the contrast.
Use Straws for Flower ArrangementsShort-stemmed flowers or curvy stems are hard to put in a floral arrangement. What I do is cut the stem under cold water and at an angle with sharp scissors. Next, put the stem into a plastic drinking straw and put into your own custom arrangement.
