Use Rope To Deter SnakesTo get rid of any snake, use sisal rope. Put it where you don't want the snake. Because of the soft underbelly of the snake, it will not cross over the rope. This is an old cowboy trick handed down by my family.
Avoid Water Moccasins by a PondSeveral years ago, we were feeding the ducks at a local pond when we noticed there were little heads sticking up eating the bread also. We assumed they were moccasin, and it turned out they were. Moccasins are venomous, and baby ones like to come to the shore often and search for food, or just watch. They are amusing but dangerous. So my tip is to watch your feet when at the pond feeding ducks. Moccasins are known to be very interested in goings on around the pond.
