Then people move out, get divorced or even die and you are left with only one or two people in the home. Or you may be just starting out on your own or with a new spouse and you find very few recipes for one or two people but hundreds for larger families.

Underline Unique Recipe IngredientsWhen I save my recipes in my files, I like to underline ingredients I commonly don't keep in my cupboard. It saves me time if I can quickly see what I will need to buy. I won't start a recipe just to discover I can't complete it due to an important missing ingredient.
Look for SNAP or WIC RecipesIf you Google "SNAP recipes" or "WIC recipes" you will get many sources of delicious recipes with high nutritional value, and all of them are inexpensive. Both are government programs that have guidelines on what foods are acceptable to be eligible. Some items are whole grain breads, peanut butter, milk, eggs and chicken. You will not see soda pop or chips on the list of allowed foods!
Fannie Farmer CookbooksI have a lot of cookbooks and, even though I don't often use a cookbook anymore, I always keep my copies of "The Fannie Farmer Cookbook" and "The Fannie Farmer Baking Book" on hand.
Limit Indoor Appliance Use In SummerWhen summer hits, I try everything to keep it cool inside without running the AC 24/7. I do all my cooking outside and dry clothes outside as well. Why turn on a heating appliance and run the AC at the same time?
Uses for Juice from Canned FruitUse it when making yeast breads; including cinnamon rolls and or quick breads. It adds another layer of delicious flavor and nutrition. You may want to reduce the amount of sugar by a Tbsp. or so to keep from having your breads or rolls too sweet.
Product Review: The American Heart Association CookbookThis is a cookbook for those of you who are not creators in the kitchen. If you want healthy and delicious recipes this is a book for you. I had checked it out at our local library and had made copies of what I wanted to try.
Keep Recipes in a Three Ring BinderI have made a "recipe notebook" out of a 3-ring binder and clear insert pages to hold all my recipes that were loose in my kitchen drawer. I have also written down my recipes "from memory", that I know how to make, but never bothered to write down.

Use any search engine, such as Yahoo, MSN, Google, etc. to search using the word RECIPES. You will get jillions of websites. You can even find the restaurant recipes!

Meatless ChiliI make a meatless chili full of veggies and spices and thick tomato base and serve it over brown rice or in a homemade bread bowl. My family never misses the meat!
Roasted GarlicWrap each head of garlic separately in foil that has been lightly sprayed with non stick cooking spray. Bake at 400F. for approximately 30 min. or until they feel soft when squeezed.
