Firefighter RecipesMy friend, Sunny, sent me a link for several recipes collected from assorted Fire Departments and I just have to share the four I found tinged with fun humor with my fellow ThriftyFun Family Members.
Kielbasa Shish KabobA really good way to have kielbasa is on a shish kabob. I just cut them into 1 inch slices and also take sirloin steak cut into 1 inch (approx) squares, cut onion and green bell pepper into small pieces--big enough so they don't fall apart when you skewer them.
Escalloped Augratin Potatoes PlusI have used meatballs prepared, baked and frozen stirred in, OR bake a pork steak till tender and shred the meat into the potatoes. Stir in your favorite vegie--peas, beans, corn, which ever in to the potatoes. If using frozen vegies, allow about 1/2 cup milk more than boxed potato recipe calls for.
Easy Chicken and NoodlesTake whatever chicken pieces you want and put them in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Make cream of mushroom soup as you would for regular soup.
Turkey Loaf SkilletI made a turkey loaf that was very dry. My husband was a trooper and ate it with added salsa on top. I decided to see if I can salvage it. What I did is saute onions and garlic, added chopped celery, chopped red pepper, canned mushrooms, a can of diced tomatoes with just a little bit of the sauce and a half a can of tomato paste and assorted seasonings.
Ham and Scalloped Potato DinnerLast night, I needed something fast for supper. In the fridge, had some leftover veggies and a package of ham slices. I took a 9 x 13 inch baking dish and sprayed it with nonstick cooking spray. I took 3 boxes of Betty Crocker scalloped potatoes
Turkey Broccoli BakeButter an average-size casserole dish. Put a layer of dressing on the bottom. (Stove Top works fine.) Add a layer of turkey meat, sliced or in pieces. Add a layer of steamed broccoli.
Lemon Pepper Pork Roast With PotatoesVery easy, just like it sounds. I cut potatoes into thick slices, with peeling on them. I put the slices in the bottom of the crockpot and put my pork roast on top of them.
