Does it say anything on the bottom or is there some kind of maker mark on her back? If so, you can search the name on Google or ebay. Always check completed auctions to get an idea of its value. I can tell you shes a soap dish probably circa 1920-1930.

Use Old Socks for Packing
Thats a great idea. I used my kitchen towels, pillow cases and doilies for wrapping things when I moved. It saves on boxes as well as gives a great cushion for delicate glassware.

I dont think so, I always pinch my first few buds back. They should be fine. You might want to feed them with some rapid grow or something like that. I water mine with sugar water as they start to ripen to make them sweeter.
