Finding Dead Birds in Yard?
It is possible the birds are crashing into your friend's house. The hawk may have recently caught the bird you saw it eating. Hawks wouldn't leave birds they have killed. They aren't scavengers unless they are very hungry, so I don't think the hawk was eating...
