This is my special meatloaf that is fast easy and delicious that my family enjoys for dinner.
There are two recipes to this submission. They go together so well that I just can't offer one without the other. They are both easy and economical as well as great comfort foods.
My husband has experimented with creating many recipes. Meatloaf was always a favorite because it's easy, economical, and freezes well. After trying this recipe, I asked him to write it down as it was a "keeper".
An unusual way to serve meatloaf. Cut six 12 x 14 inch rectangles of heavy-duty foil; set aside. In a medium bowl, mix ground beef, egg, cracker crumbs, tomato sauce, pepper, salt, and dry mustard. Set aside.
A change of pace from traditional meat loaf, and very good.
This meatloaf recipe has an unusual ingredient in it - applesauce. You cannot taste it, but the applesauce keeps the meatloaf moist. This recipe makes great meatloaf sandwiches.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In large bowl, combine ground beef, 1/3 cup pasta sauce, egg, and bread crumbs. Season, if desired, with salt and pepper.
Picante sauce is a great substitute for ketchup. If you like spicy food, try salsa on your meat loaf.
In large bowl, combine beaten egg, Worcestershire sauce, salt, mustard and pepper. Add meat, cottage cheese, onion and green pepper; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into a loaf in baking pan.
This is a great recipe that kids and adults both will like. It's a good one to make for times when you will be having company or the kids have friends over. Very good!
