When you find those dreaded ant hills, there's a cheap and sure way to get to them all, even the queen. Boil a large pot boiling water and pour it directly on the hill.
I try to get rid of ants at the source. If you find an ant hill, pour boiling water on it. It's nontoxic to other animals and gets them before they get into the house.
