Mulberry Jam Recipes?

June 16, 2006

Mulberry JamI have many Mulberry trees that are almost ready to pick. I would like to make jam with them this year. Do I need to take out all the little stems when making cooked jam or will they cook up soft in the processing? Thanks for any advice or recipes for Mulberries that come this way!

If you like the pulp, a colander works well it will remove the stems after cooking.

Inside the Sure Jell box are some recipes for making different kinds of jelly. Everytime I make mango, papaya, or passion fruit jelly all I do is follow the recipe for strawberry jelly. Basically, all jelly recipes are the same.

You will have so many cups of fresh fruit that you must cook down for a certain time before adding the sugar and sure jell. Just follow the strawberry jelly recipe inside the package and replace the strawberries with mulberries.
