Please suggest a color for curtains. Stairwell is going to be black metal modern with cable. Room divider (not up yet) is brown /wood/geometric/ modern slats (between dining room and living room). Walls 16 feet high. Walls pure white. Teal/turquoise rug - see picture (hasn't arrived yet) will be overlapped on existing rug. Should I paint window sills black to match stairs and chimney to give contrast to window area? OR Should I choose a different color curtain other than white?
Should I change pillows on couch? Ones I have are white with teal, brown and green geometric design. Large pictures have ivory background/green, turquoise, aqua leaves. Frames are brown. Plaques next to mantel are birchwood natural with black palms. Wall across from chimney matches the brick on chimney (creamy beige bricks). Actually it's wallpaper, but it sure does look like real bricks. Floor is going to white hardwood with a hint a beige, but primarily whitish.
Please suggest any ideas you have in mind to improve my space. Bear in mind I would like to keep the room as light and airy as possible. I tried beige linen drapes but they caused the room to become somewhat drab. I would appreciate any and all recommendations you may have as I am really stuck here. Thank you so very much! God Bless.
If it was my room, with the dark furniture, dark frames, dark firebox, and dark mantle, I would change the curtains to a pretty aqua or teal color, but not TOO dark a shade. And maybe not solid. If you could find white with some swirls, or other splashes of aqua or teal, I think that would look great. If not, then go with my first suggestion.
Hello, could you please suggest colours for throw pillows for these sofas?
1. The plain sofa is Faded Brown Red sofa.
2. Chesterfield sofa is Brown Red and Cream colour dotted patterns.
3.
Walls are off white with a tint of cream colour.Pillows in maroon shades may go well w/ your furniture.
I had recently purchased curtains (pic of sofa and curtain attached). Please guide me in choosing a cushion cover color and sofa cover color.
I have a wood colored wall on one side and light yellow on other side.I would go for a burgundy in the same color family as the curtains. I like darker sofas as they hide the dirt and wear better.
I just purchased two new sofas for my living room, they are a medium grey. I have blinds that are a mauve pink. I don't want to replace the blinds or my entertainment center or desk that are in black. I have 1 wall that is used brick with fireplace insert. I have a low ceiling with 6 beams that are presently painted mauve pink. I have a sunken living room that has a wrought iron black rail around it. I'm replacing the carpet and painting.
Do you have any ideas for these? I can't seem to come up with any colors that I think will work. I am also replacing the drapes. I would like to refinish or paint the coffee tables. I'm including a picture of a new sofa and I bought 2 alike. I'm having a hard time deciding on carpet colors. The carpet will go in all rooms. Need ideas on paint also.
I would use off-white with a gray base and gray carpet in the same color family as the sofas.
We've just put up Dunelm's Highland check ochre lined eyelet curtains which have grey, mustard, and beige checks. What rug, suite and coloured walls would you suggest? Our room is about 12ft x 10ft with gold framed mirror and picture frames. Thanks.
I would have beige walls and rug. Then, I would use the mustard and grey to accent, with throw pillows, vases, candy dish and nick nacks.
I would use a light gray color for the walls, and have a rug with mustard and grey in it.
I really think a powdered gray carpet would look nice in the room. You can do a light cream beige on the walls with a gray trim to add accent tot he walls and tie this all together.
The curtains and throw pillows you select can help complete the color scheme for your room. Choosing a color that helps achieve the best effect can be a process of trial and error.
I have 1 solid mustard color wall and the other 3 are patterned mustard and beige color wallpaper. There is also a multi colored wall to wall plush carpet in earth tones of green tanish-gold and beige. What color should I choose for drapes and accent things? My furniture is chocolate brown
I would choose light tan or cream. You have enough colors already.
I love the look of navy blue in contrast of gold tones.
