Cappuccino Mix Recipes

July 7, 2010

A cup of instant cappuccino made from a mix. It's easy to make and a lot cheaper than store-bought. I love this stuff. To me it is not a cold weather drink only, I love to wind down at the end of the day with a cup and either a good movie or book.

I am looking for a Butterfinger cappuccino recipe. It's hard to find at stores anymore so I am looking to make my own.

I too love Butterfinger Cappuccino so I improvised and made up my own recipe for this. I use a dry mix recipe such as the ones listed here. I put the dry mix in my blender along with two to three full size butterfinger candy bars broken into pieces (I like mine to have a strong butterfinger taste) and process it for about 5 minutes on high speed until the candy bars are pulverized and totally blended in the dry mix.

Since candy does not need refrigerated, you can keep this in an airtight container at your coffee station or cupboard.

I've never had the Italian Cappuccino but here is a copy cat recipe for their Cafe Cappuccino and it's enough for quite a few cups of coffee:

(I suggest placing the hard candy inside a paper towel and mashing it a bit with a heavy rolling pin or hammer before placing ingredients in the blender)

1/4 cup Powdered Creamer
1/3 cup Sugar
1/4 cup Instant Coffee
1 Orange flavored piece of hard candy

Process in a blender on liquefy until well blended.

The recipe for Cappuccino mix sounds great, but since I use no sugar in my brewed coffee, would I then decrease the amount in this recipe, or omit it altogether?

When you make a batch of Cappuccino mix, try omitting the sugar. If you don't like the taste, just add a small amount of sugar and combine it in the mix.

You just have to experiment with home made mixes, that what I always do.
