GARLIC SNACK MIX (clone of Gardetto's)

9 Tbsp. Butter or margarine, melted
3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
2 tsp. seasoned salt
3/4 tsp. onion powder
9 cups (total) Rice, Wheat, or Corn Chex, bagel chips, mini breadsticks, or any other "crunchy" ingredient
1 cup pretzels

Preheat oven to 250 degrees. In small bowl, stir together butter, Worcestershire and seasonings. In large mixing bowl, combine cereal, peanuts, and pretzels. Drizzle seasoned butter over cereal mixture, stirring to coat well. Transfer to large roasting/baking dish and bake for 75-90 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes, until almost completely dry but not over-browned. Allow to cool completely, stirring once or twice to air dry, and store in airtight bag/container.

NOTE: If mixture doesn't seem completely dry after cooling, pop it back into
a 250-degree oven for another 15 minutes or so and then cool again.

Does anyone have recipes for 'party mixes' that uses nuts, fruits, or cereal. My family loves the Chex party mix and would love to try some new ones. THANKS

My sister who just passed away on Monday at age 86 had the most wonderful snack mix recipe. She started several years ago with the chex mix and kept adding stuff to it, cashews, small pretzels, various crunchy cerals and the little sesame sticks at the health food store.

She built a great snack just by using her own imagination and it was delicious. She would never share the recipe but freely gave away the snack to anyone who wanted it. You can do that. Just start throwing stuff into it.

I use Crisp-x cereal the recipe is on the back of the box. You only need the one kind of cereal. Very good.

I like MartyD's sister's idea. Make your own concoction and Never give out the recipe. Let 'em enjoy it and try to figure out what you put in it.

I'm looking for a Chex mix recipe that has peanut butter and I believe honey on it, but no powdered sugar. My husband is diabetic. I would appreciate your help.
