Use old zippers to create flowers for pins, shoe clips, photo frames, etc. I prefer the zippers with silver metal teeth, but the nylon zippers also work for this project.

Approximate Time: about 45 minutes
Supplies:
26-inch zipper
scissors
ruler
2-inch scrap of felt
hot glue gun and glue sticks
pin back
Instructions:
This project uses one side of a 26-inch zipper with silver metal teeth. Begin by unzipping the zipper and cutting the metal stop off the end so you can remove the zipper pull. I also cut the metal piece from the opposite end.
Cut the zipper tape into 7 equal pieces and set 6 of them aside.
Begin rolling one piece to form the flower center, applying some hot glue periodically as you roll it up. Once that is done, set the center aside.

Cut a circle from the 2-inch scrap of felt to form the flower base.
To create the flower petals, add a dab of glue to one end of one of the pieces. Twist the other end around and place it on the glue to create a loop. Repeat this step with the remaining 5 pieces.
Now, glue to the flat ends of the petals to the center of the flower base.

Glue flower center to middle of flower petals.
If creating a pin, flip the piece over and glue on a pin back. (Note: You could use the other half of the zipper to create more petals for a fuller flower.)
