To kill weeds, spray them with vinegar when the sun is shining. Spray all the leaves. They will shrivel up and die. It is non-toxic to animals, etc.

I have had great success killing off my dandelions with sulfate of ammonia, the 21-0-0 stuff. After watering, I just put a teaspoon of the dry crystals in the center of the damp dandelion.
