Peeling Oranges

I hate peeling oranges, the white stuff always gets stuck under my nails and then I end up smelling like oranges all day! So I recycle my bread bags or plastic zipper bags by sticking my hand in them and then peeling my oranges. Works like a dream!

When using oranges to make a fancy dessert or salad, remove the white membrane on them by soaking the oranges in boiling water for 5 minutes before you peel them.

Here's an easy way to remove the skin of an orange prior to using the orange in sections for a recipe. Bring about 6 cups of water to boil in a small pan. Ever so slowly, with an orange in a large soup ladle, lower it into the pan.
