Making a Mason Jar Snack Container

snacks in containerThis reusable snack container is a great way to recycle part of your next juice carton. It would also be a great way to store small items such as beads.

Supplies:

  • orange juice carton with plastic spout
  • Mason jar with ring
oj carton and mason jar
 

Steps:

  1. Open the top of the carton, then thoroughly wash the empty juice carton. Allow to dry completely with the cap off. Wash the lid too.
  2. wash and dry carton
     
  3. Cut off a large section around the spout.
  4. cut spout out of carton
     
  5. Trace around the ring, centering the spout in the middle. Cut out.
  6. use ring to center and cut out spout 1
     
    use ring to center and cut out spout 2
     
  7. Use the Mason jar lid as a template to trim the carton top to the correct size to fit inside the ring snuggly. Cut out.
  8. use lid to trim spout
     
    trim spout to fit

  9. Insert the spout into the ring and screw onto the Mason jar. Fill with small snacks or whatever you want. Put the cap on and enjoy!
