Freshening Laundry

March 14, 2011

A stack of clean clothes.A new tip for freshening your smelliest laundry problems is to add a couple "capfuls" of regular mouthwash to your load of laundry! Brands such as Scope or dollar store brands work best - not Listerine which is too harsh. This should work on leftover smells of urine and such that can be really hard to remove.

I just heard about this and thought I'd share. Hope it helps!

Is Odorban a good product for eliminating smelly odors from clothing, linens, towels, etc.? If so, how much do I use?

I think it is, I raise dogs and use it on furniture and multiple things. You mix half and half...half Odorban and half water. You can use it on clothes, furniture, beds, floors, ect.

Here is a great tip to freshen your laundry. When the rinse cycle start add one cup of white distilled vinegar to the rinse water and when your laundry is finished, your clothes will be springtime fresh. This is a good way to freshen clothes that have been packed away all winter long. By Venise

This is a page about removing odors from clothing that was left in the washer. Mildew can grow in damp clothes that have not been dried promptly leaving a stubborn smell.

When a load of wet laundry got left in the dryer for a week the smell was horrendous. I soaked the whole load in the washer overnight with a cup of vinegar in the water, then drained it and rewashed with laundry soap.
