Carpet StainHere's hint/tip on a homemade all-purpose carpet cleaning solution. Fill a spray bottle with white vinegar and water (half & half).

The best I have found is this, it is also the simplest:

White Vinegar
Baking Soda
Water

Mix it into a paste, and apply with a toothbrush. Let dry and then vacuum up baking soda.

I have used the Dawn and hydrogen peroxide spot cleaner very successfully.

You might want to try mixing 1 cup of vinegar and 1 cup of warm water in a spray bottle and applying it to carpet stains. Spray the area you want to clean, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes then wipe with a damp cloth.
