If you are looking for a way to hide a key outside, a pill bottle makes a great weather-proof container. With a rock to disguise the top, you can tuck it into a rock garden or partially bury it to hide it's location.

Total Time: 10 minutes
Supplies:
prescription pill bottle
a clean rock
E6000 glue
Steps:
Choose a rock that will completely cover the lid of the bottle. Thoroughly wash and dry it. Remove the label from your pill bottle.
Apply glue to the bottle lid and to the rock. Allow them to sit for approx. 2 minutes, when stick the rock onto the lid. Allow the glue to cure for 24-48 hours before adding a key and placing it outside.
Once your hide-a-key is ready to use, either dig a hole just deep enough to put the pill bottle in. In our case, tucking it into an area of our rock garden worked well too. NOTE: Just remember to find a place where people won't see you retrieve your key.

Everyone knows most people leave a key under the mat or in a plant. Instead, put your key in an empty pill bottle and glue a rock to the top of the bottle. Dig a hole big enough for the pill bottle, then slide the bottle in the hole and leave the rock sticking out. Tell everyone in the house where to find the key. Try putting it in the garden so it is easier to find.
This is so easy but smart you won't need a photo. Take any prescription bottle and glue a pine cone or whatever your landscape is made of so it will blend a rock or pine needles etc.

Dig a hole just big enough to put the bottle in the ground, leaving the top ground level. Remember where you put it because it will blend in.
