Before putting tomato sauce or other leftovers that may say stain into tupperware, line the container with foil.
How do you stop bowls from staining red from chili or spaghetti sauces?
Jan from Cincinnati, OH
I am not sure if this works or not but a friend told me to spray the bowl with pam before putting spaghetti sauce in. I am going to try this myself. Cathy from MA
You really can't prevent it, but I do have a way to remove the stains. Fill the bowls or containers with water, and get yourself as cheap of a package of denture cleaner as you can (like Equate, from the Walmart, or any other generic denture cleaner), and put a half of a tablet of that into the bowl.
It helps a bit to spray them first with pam cooking spray then add your food.
Rinse out the bowls with Cold water first. Then use warm, soapy water to clean.
I always spray my plastic before putting any tomato products in them. I have NEVER had a stain after do so. It also seems to cut down on smells remaining behind.
I spray mine with Pam. Works everytime. Need to spray the lid too.
Me, I use no plastic, only glass and stainless.
How long do you let them soak
