Choosing a Bathroom Vanity Top?

March 11, 2008

Bathroom VanityI'm up to my ears trying to remodel a bathroom. I recently bought a sink vanity at a certain big box home improvement store without a top. I didn't like the ones they had, and no one was willing to help me, so I got mad and left. Now I have a topless vanity, and can't find a top to go on it.

I'm looking for a porcelain top and sink, preferably one piece. Nothing granite or marble. Just plain white porcelain. Do they even exist? Everything I find is marble or granite, and costs a fortune. Doesn't it seem like you should be able to buy just a plain white porcelain sink top? Help!

I have a white marble - one piece sink abd counter top unit with the faucet attached for 70.00. I have never seen a porcelain top as one unit I usually make a counter top with granite or ceramic tiles, then add a porcelain sink. This marble unit came out of an old house. It is perfectly fine and works great.

Have you tried shopping at a Habitat ReStore? Some remodelers and retailers give building materials to them for use or sale. You might try calling 1st.

I have a white porcelain vanity top that has a sink built in. It is brand new american standard has 8" spacing for faucets. It would fit a 30" w X 24" deep vanity.

I was hoping you all could help me with a decision. I'm almost done with my first do-it-yourself bathroom makeover. I'm trying to create a 1920s to 30s looking bathroom. I added faux crown molding, stripped, and stained the wood trim a dark brown, and painted the walls a dark sage green.

I got a great deal on a claw foot tub at a salvage auction. The floor is a small circular white tile with a black design. All I need now is the bathroom vanity and I can't decide. I'm on a budget so I'm getting the bath vanity from Home Living at www.homelivingstyle.com

I need a double sink vanity, but I was also thinking of getting two single sinks. If anyone has any suggestions or tips I'd be happy to hear them. Thank you all in advance. I have no design style so this will really help.

Have you thought about two pedestal sinks instead. It would be more fitting for your 30's theme. Or refit a large deco piece of furniture like a dresser to "drop" the sinks in instead.

It could even be a piece with a neglected finish that you sand very well and then paint with black Marine paint, for a durable finish. The room sounds great!
