Family favorite! Peel and slice apples. Heat bacon grease or butter. I usually use an electric skillet, just because it's easy to regulate the temp.
Steam apples with butter and water in a heavy saucepan until they are soft. Stir sugar and cinnamon.
Add margarine to skillet over medium heat, then add apples. Saute over medium heat, for about 10 minutes.
