A slice of banana cream pie on a plate with slices of fresh banana.This is so good!

Ingredients:

  • 1 - 2 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1/3 cup vanilla wafer crumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 lb. marshmallows (about 30)
  • Advertisement

  • 1/2 pint heavy cream, beaten
  • 1 cup well drained crushed pineapple

Directions:

Butter a pie plate and sprinkle with the crumbs. Combine the milk and marshmallows in top of double boiler and heat, stirring, until dissolved. Cool thoroughly and fold in the whipped cream and pineapple. Pour over crumbs, and sprinkle with 1 tbs. more crumbs. Chill for at least 4 hours.

Servings: 6-8
Prep Time: 10-15 Minutes, not including chill time
Cooking Time: Minutes

I made this as a kid friendly dessert contribution for a pot-luck I attended. It was very popular with the kids.

You could add butterscotch, strawberry, pineapple, or other traditional ice cream sundae toppings if you wish.
