Making Pinecone Christmas Trees

Christmas Pinecones - decorated pinecones Both immature green pinecones and old dried pinecones make for great mini Christmas trees. They look so cute with cotton as snow and beads and necklaces as ornaments. They make cute little centerpieces. This craft is great for all ages.

Total Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 2 trees

Supplies:

1 dried pinecone
1 green pinecone
cardboard tube from toilet paper
paint
paintbrush
scissors
glue
cotton
beads
necklaces

Steps:

Paint cardboard tubes. I used red and green.

Christmas Pinecones - paint cardboard tubes

When dry, cut rings about 1/2 to 3/4 inches high. This will be the base for your trees.

Glue the cardboard ring base to the bottom of your pinecone.

Pull apart some cotton to fluff it up then place it around the pinecone.

Add little dots of glue to the points of the pinecone. Let the glue get a bit tacky as you work around the cone.

Press your beads into the dots of glue.

Affix base to green pinecone.

Wrap with necklaces. You don't need glue for this.

These trees are quite easy to make and they would look great on a table or any small place you would like to put them. They also seem to be the right size to go with the miniature villages that are so popular these days.
