Melt butter in 8x8 inch pan. Sift together flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Add milk; gradually; stir until fairly smooth. (Don't worry about small lumps.) Spoon batter over melted butter. Do not stir. Remove peach slices with fork and place over batter. Do not stir. Drizzle peach juice over all. Do not stir. Bake in preheated oven at 350 degrees F for 1 hour or until batter rises to top and is lightly browned. Serve warm with ice cream or cream.
