Total Time: 4 - 6 hours, including some of the drying time

Supplies:

  • 4 inch terra cotta flower pot ($.97)
  • 4 inch terra cotta saucer ($.78)
  • glass bowl ($1.00)
  • acrylic paint ($.25)
  • paint brush (reusable) ($3.00)
  • Modge Podge ($.25)
  • decal or stickers ($.97)
  • wooden knob ($.37)
  • E6000 glue ($.25)
Clay Pot Candy/Gumball Machine
 

Steps:

  1. Paint pot, saucer, and knob.
  2. Clay Pot Candy/Gumball Machine
     
  3. Allow to dry about an hour.
  4. Apply Modge Podge with brush (this makes it easier later if you need to reposition decal/sticker).
  5. Decorate by applying decal or stickers.
  6. Apply Modge Podge with brush.
  7. Allow to dry about an hour.
  8. Attach glass bowl to pot with E6000 glue.
  9. Clay Pot Candy/Gumball Machine

  10. Attach knob to saucer with E6000 glue.
  11. Allow to set for 24 hours to make sure glue is set.
  12. Fill with your favorite candy or gumballs.

This simple little project looks oh-so-cute and is super easy to make. A fishbowl, flower pot, markers, and candy is all it takes! You could even color coordinate the pot with your parties theme.

It could even make a fun Halloween decoration with orange and black paint and a spiderweb draw on the lid with gummy worms inside!
