Homeschooling Tips, Mother Homeschooling her Two Teenage ChildrenI homeschool 4 kids. I need some ideas to make it fun teaching instead of always just using text books. Does any one have any ideas of teaching games, for grades K, 2, and 3. Thanks.

For math, I like to have kids that age play war. Are you familiar with the card game called war? I changed it a little to use it for math. Basically, divide a shuffled deck of cards, giving half the deck to one child and half to the other.

Each turns one card over and places it in front of themselves. Whoever yells the answer out first gets to keep both cards. The "answer" depends on their level of math. If they are learning addition, the "answer" would be the sum of the two cards. If they are working on multiplication, the "answer" would be the product of the two cards.

You can also use it for subtraction. Division does not work. I even used it with fractions (the "answer" is to create a fraction with the card and then divide the fraction in half - so if there was a 2 and a 5, the answer would be 2/10ths).

If you're creative, you can use that game to work on several different math skills at the different math levels. I hope that helps.

I have heard this is a highly recommended place to help you homeschool. You can do it on your own, but I like the idea of keeping grades and such online.
