This is a very moist and delicious cake. Although its beginning lies in a boxed cake mix, the finish is spectacular and memorable. The Kahlua liqueur gives it an exceptionally rich and unique flavor. Definitely for the adults.

This is a delicious recipe using a yellow butter cake mix and several other ingredients easy to keep on hand. I got it out of our church cookbook that was printed in 1987, and I have used it more times than I can count.

It is always a hit and so easy to "make and take."

Cake Box Mix Pound Cake

If I make a regular cake, my husband and I eat more than we should. Sometimes, I just crave something sweet without the guilt. I made a Jiffy cake for the two of us. When I made it, I sifted the mix and when I prepared it, I put in a tablespoon of mayo.

When I bake a box cake it comes out moist, but when you cut it, it turns all crumbly. You get maybe 1/2 slice and the rest is crumbs.

I am trying to bake a half and half chocolate cake and a vanilla cake and wanted to know the best box cake mix to use. I always made the cakes seperately and know that chocolate cake takes a little longer time to cook than the vanilla cake.

In my experience, all cake mixes are basically the same and have similar cooking times. I think any of the better store bought brands like Betty Crocker should work great.

Can you take a white cake mix and add white chocolate chips (melted) to the batter and make it taste good? Or is that just a waste of time and effort?

First off- it sounds awesome! Second- DO NOT MELT the chocolate first. Simply add the white ch chips to the batter. Trust me! They will melt on their own but still maintain without making your cake mushy. Add about 1/2 cup of them . Maybe a bit more if you wish. You can also put the chips in the freezer for about 1/2 hour before adding to batter. It will also help them maintain . Either way/ itll work out great. Never be afraid to experiment when baking. Its what makes a great baker.

Why use a half of box of cake mix to make a whole cake? If you mean you just want a small cake, you can buy a cake mix called Jiffy that makes something like a 8" cake layer. To make a cake with half of a cake mix you would have to measure out to see how many cups of mix in the package, then use half of that, and then do the same with the other ingredients, using just half of the number of eggs, oil, etc.

However, that won't make a 9x13 cake, it would only make an 8" cake.

Combine milk and egg. Add cake mix and chopped pecans. Pour into pan and top with chocolate chips and Bits 'O Brickle.

Bake at 350 degrees F for 30-35 minutes. Tastes better if you let it set for one day.

Here's a couple I think you will enjoy.

Coconut Poke Cake

1 package white cake mix
1 can cream of coconut
1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 package frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 package flaked coconut

Prepare and bake white cake mix according to package directions. Remove cake from oven. While still hot, using a utility fork, poke holes all over the top of the cake.
Mix cream of coconut and sweetened condensed milk together. Pour over the top of the still hot cake. Let cake cool completely then frost with the whipped topping and top with the flaked coconut. Keep cake refrigerated.

Strawberry Dream Cake

1 (18.25 ounce) package white cake mix
1 1/2 cups frozen sweetened strawberries, pureed
12 ounces cream cheese
8 (1 ounce) squares white chocolate
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/2 pint sliced fresh strawberries

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease two 9 inch round cake pans. Make cake per directions except substitute the 1 1/2 cups of strawberries for the water and add 1 extra egg, (if cake mix calls for 2 eggs add 3), and 8 ounces of the cream cheese at room temperature. Beat well and pour into the prepared pans.
Bake at 350 degrees F for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown. A toothpick inserted in the center will not come out clean when this cake is done since it is so moist. Let cake cool fully before frosting.
To Make Frosting: Heat the heavy cream until just beginning to boil. Pour it over the white chocolate (chopped) and the remaining 4 ounces cream cheese. Mix well and let cool. Once cool fold into the whipped topping. Use to frost cooled cake and garnish with sliced fresh strawberries.

I got this from a Party center I used to work at. Be sure to only use 3/4 cup caramel Ice cream topping-otherwise it is too sweet! And, the no-fat kind is just fine!)

Jamie's Oatmeal Caramel Bars (from the Patrician Party Center!)
1 pkg. white cake mix
2 cups uncooked oatmeal
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup oil
1 egg
3/4 cup caramel ice cream topping

Mix together cake mix, oatmeal and brown sugar. Stir in oil and egg; mix well.
Pat 1/2 of this dough mixture in a greased and floured 13x9 pan. Spread caramel topping over the crust in pan. Crumble the rest of the dough mixture evenly over the topping.
Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 minutes
