With Mother's Day approaching, I thought I would suggest a few of the gifts I have received through my many Mother's Days that I have truly appreciated.
From free to more expensive, not in order however:
Remember a gift is always nice, but it really is the thought that counts, just being remembered by the children they choose to have is what means the most to any Mother.

Following my 70th birthday, my four grown children got together and sent me a beautifully hand-decorated box of little slips of paper where they'd written a Thank-You for something I'd taught them.
I read an article in Ann Landers from a girl who said she was always too busy to take time out for a visit for her Mom. It says; "One of these days will never come because Mom has passed away.
So here is a really neat idea for making Mom a happy camper when she comes home after working hard and has sore feet. With a little adult supervision, this could be done by children and would be no problem for a teenager.
With Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up, the best gift you could ever give is your presence. But if this is not possible, send them several prepaid calling cards so they can keep in touch with you and their grandchildren more often than maybe their budget will allow.
For Mother's Day, after quizzing my mom about what she wanted/needed, one of the things my mom requested was a joke book. I considered checking a used bookstore for a unique and inexpensive joke book but am making one myself for cheap!
One of my favorites is "Grandma Knows Best But No One Ever Listens!". The author is Mary McBride. Lots of advice for Grandmas with a lot of humor.
