Fruit Dip Recipes

October 14, 2011
Fruit Dip RecipesA very kid friendly way to serve apples, use up older bananas, and have a healthy snack! It doesn't get easier than this, and is healthier than caramel!

Ingredients:

  • about a 1/2 cup of creamy peanut butter or crunchy if you must
  • 1 banana
  • 3-4 Tbsp. honey
  • an apple or two, sectioned, for dipping

Directions:

Whirl the first three ingredients in a a processor or whip it up with a hand held blender till smooth and creamy. Make any adjustments you'd like, such as, more banana, more honey. What you want is a dip consistency. Maybe you don't have any honey? Try maple syrup! Dip your apples and snack away. Great for school lunches, after school snack, or even for dessert. Liven it up with sprinkles or raisins.

Source: I made this up in desperation for a late night movie munchie! Love it!

This is a great way to use your leftover cranberry sauce and whipped topping. This recipe said it could be saved for Christmas or New Year's and served with fruit like red and green grapes, apples, kiwi, strawberries, etc., but I plan to serve this anytime of year, especially for summertime.
