Freezing BaconI like to purchase bacon in the large package and prefer the thick sliced. If I don't freeze it, it will not hold the flavor until I use it all. Freezing Bacon

 

To freeze it, I cut the bacon in half, crosswise, count out the amount I will be needing for a meal and divide the package in equal portions. I wrap each portion of bacon strips in Glad Cling Wrap and freeze them in a Ziploc freezer bag. Freezing Bacon

When I get ready to cook bacon, if I have forgotten to take it out the night before, I just stick it in the microwave for a few seconds and it comes apart easily. Each portion fits my George Foreman Grill perfectly and is a gracious plenty for the two of us.

When we have company, I just take out extra and fry it in the frying pan.

If you want to freeze bacon without it sticking together in a clump, roll each piece from one end to the other like a jellyroll. Place each rolled piece, side by side, and lay flat in ziplock bag in freezer.
