Replanting an Uprooted Tree

January 29, 2011

small orange treeWe had a bizarre storm last night and my mature orange tree, full of fruit, was blown over. It is now laying across my lawn, but it appears to be still attached at the roots. Is it worth trying to save? If so, what would need to be done?

It's probably possible but the tree must be uprighted and you will need the services of a professional to help as it's too heavy to move on your own. Call a tree surgeon or arborist in your area and ask. If you can do it yourself, stake the tree to give it stability, water well and keep your fingers crossed.
