Organized Items in a Car TrunkFrugal and Green! Purchase one of those heavy duty insulated shopping bags and keep it in your car for when you're grocery shopping. I find it especially helpful here in the South, during the summer. Now you won't have to worry about your food getting warm or defrosting on the drive home. They are very inexpensive. They fold flat and take up little storage space in your car when not in use. Yet they open to a generous sized bag. I bought mine at Sam's Club, but they are available elsewhere.

Ladies, be sure to carry a pair of boots or sneakers in your trunk in case you should breakdown. Dress shoes are not good for walking in an emergency situation. An old warm coat and gloves left in the trunk is also handy to have.

Now that we can travel a little more now, I hope this will help you stay organized on the cheap. I got a small tool box at a thrift store, and simply filled it with things I had in the house or in the car but could rarely find.

Supplies placed in the bottom of a tool box.
