I have inherited the white porcelain inserts for vintage ball zinc Mason canning jar lids. Does anyone have any craft ideas for the porcelain lid inserts?
Coasters! Put cork backing on.
The porcelain inserts may be more difficult to work with because you may not want to cover up the porcelain/milk-glass.
most people go to Pinterest for ideas and they do have some but the majority of the listings/ideas are for the ring top and liner so you may have to sort through to find ideas for just the inserts.
The problem may be with finding a way to hang these or you may have to glue them to a 'ring or something'.
Check out this site to see if you have any of these:
Here is an article that should be read by anyone thinking of using the 'hard plastic w/rubber' inserts. Older/vintage ones can be unsafe to use.
Older article but updated so if interested you need to read the complete article.

Of course, you may want to think about selling a few. Not a lot of money but still??

I am a caring clown and go to senior's care facilities. You mentioned making tap shoes from plastic lids. I have Mason jar lids and want to make them for the seniors. I also have elastics. We will put them onto their own shoes and then have fun toe tapping to old songs like twinkle twinkle and old McDonald. Anyway you get the gist I hope.

I would love to see a photo of this as I can't quite envisage it. It would be very useful for me in my job as an activity co-ordinator for dementia patients.
