We have scuff marks on linoleum from crocks and flip-flops. Any ideas of how to get them up? Thanks
Debbie from Crawfirdsville, IN
spray on some 409 then a bit of comet cleaner scrub with old toothbrush, mop clean with clear water mop. had the same issue here, works great.
Try the magic eraser.
I had these hugh black scuff marks appear on my floor,
I freaked out, ticked me off too, How in the world was I gonna get them off, I questioned everyone as to how they appeared there, .
Anyways,
I don't worry about them anymore,
Amazing what plain old Vinegar and Soda can do, The might of the Twins, I'm a believer in Good ole Soda and Vinegar, (more power YA!)
Back in my AF days, we learned a regular pencil eraser will take up most scuff marks. they'll roll right up.
I use dry paper towels and a little elbow grease. Works great!
Another simple solution. Baking soda and a damp sponge removes scuff marks better than anything. Geez!
Try WD40
I agree with the Mr. Clean Magic Erasure. Works Good. I do wish there was some miracle cleaning solution that would make it even easier though. But until then...
Use a regular old childs pink pencil eraser. Works every time.
How can I remove black rubber shoe scuff marks from my kitchen vinyl floor? It's brand new linoleum and I don't want to ruin the finish. Thanks!
I always use toothpaste, just rub it on wait a few seconds and wipe it off.
The same way you get scuffs off nice shoes - nail polish remover.
A friend of mine told me she had watched a maintenance man at an airport walking around with a tennis ball attached to a handle erasing scuff marks from the floor!
I like Mr. Clean Erasers. They are WONDERFUL!
We bought a doublewide mobile home years ago and when they put it together tar got on the bedroom carpet. When they came to replace the carpet the man asked if he could try something before removing the carpet. He sprayed with WD-40 and got all signs of the tar up.
Depending on the color of your floor, just a plain old pencil eraser, red or white, will usually do the trick.
I always used an SOS pad and LIGHTLY went over
the mark--it came right up!
After trying the rubber eraser and a white rubber shoe (neither of which worked), the nail polish remover worked like a charm!
The baking soda was perfect. No damage to the floor!
Nail polish remover worked like a charm. We tried baking soda and hand sanitizer as mentioned above but the acetone-based remover we tried worked immediately. Thanks!
How do I remove scuff marks on vinyl floor tiles?
By Sheila from Forest Hills, NY
I would try magic eraser type sponges. You can get a generic version at Dollar Tree for a buck.
I need help for removal of rubber skid marks left on a standard linoleum floor from when I was moving a TV.
By Glaad from Beaverton, OR
Use cloth + toothpaste + good old elbow grease.
You can also try rubbing with paste wax or with a standard pink eraser. These both work on scuff marks made from shoes. Another thing that works is rubbing with scuff mark with the sole of a non-marking shoe, like a white runner.
Wipe down with Goof-Off. Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works well also.
The marks come off easily when you rub them with a tennis ball.
I came by this method of getting those nasty scuff marks off my kitchen floor purely by chance.Boy, does it work, and with hardly any elbow grease! I sprayed "Goo Gone"on the scuff marks and let it set just a few minutes, then rubbed it off with an old rag.
After installing vinyl plank flooring, there are shiny shoe sole prints that show in the reflection of the new floor. I mopped with warm water and vinegar and it did not make any difference. The instructions repeatedly caution not to use any but the mildest cleaning solutions. Help!
