There are some government agencies that will give you a loan to fix the roof on your home. Depending on your income these grants might or might not need to be paid back. Right now is a very hard time to try and get any assistance at all for this type of work. I know it is the perfect time to fix the roof during the summer before the winter comes again. Here are a few government agencies that you might want to check out. www.homeadvancement.com/.../grants

possibly reach out to a local charity or a local advocate for the elderly or for other group in need group. Also sometimes progressive political organizations in your area will provide assistance. I live in a hyper rural area and know of at least two such organisations. They are generlaly very grassroots and have few resources themselves though they do have a vast network

There are several agencies that offer assistance to low income families, seniors and anyone with disabilities.
There are forms to fill out in every case and if you qualify someone will contact you and gather further information. If you then qualify they will probably place you on a list and usually these lists are broken down into several other 'lists' - such as emergency repairs, dangerous situations, unsafe for children, etc. If regular roof repairs (leaking) are what you need then you may be placed on the longest list. Sometimes these repairs may not happen for many months or even into the next budget year. Roof repairs are usually one of the most expensive home repairs and requires permits and only qualified workers so do not expect this help to happen quickly.

All I'm saying is you may qualify for help but it may not be done immediately.

This question get asked a lot on this site so please read some of the answers to others and maybe you'll find a place to ask for help.

I would suggest you contact Habitat for Humanity in your area as they may be able to offer help and maybe faster than some other agencies.

You may have local agencies that will help and they may also be faster than most regular government agencies.
Use Google : Family Services free roof repair low income with your zip code. Several agencies should be available for you to contact.

Here are some other places to research to see if you qualify.

Do you have leaks and called a company for an estimate?
Or did you get advice (need a new roof) from some other source?
It is always best to start with local people when you need free home repairs and since you did not state where you live then you can Google Low income senior needs free roof repairs with your zip code and several agencies should come up. These are the ones you should contact first as they will be familiar with the needs of your community.

There are always lots of forms to complete and nothing can be done until those forms are complete and sent to the agency you are asking for help.
If you need help completing these forms you can call your local senior services agencies and they will find someone to help you. You can even contact AARP for help and they will direct you to someone in your area.

I hope you are talking about repairs to a house you own and not a mobile home as it is almost impossible to get help with roof repairs on a mobile home.

You can contact your local chapter of Habit for Humanity as they have less forms to complete and you can usually talk to a 'human' right away. If they are unable to help, they may be able to direct you to another agency for assistance.

www.habitat.org/

There is really not much need to talk with local churches or smaller organizations as roofing is a big expense and requires zoning permits and only qualified workers (in charge).

There are a lot of people who come out to your home and claim you need expensive repairs that are not necessary. I would not take the word of just one roofer, I would call a few people to talk with them.

If you really need a new roof I would go to this website they offer free home assistance for Seniors and people who find it hard to pay their bills. They can get you the help that is needed and many times it won't cost you anything at all. Visit this site to apply and get the hep you need. www.needhelppayingbills.com/.../information_on_home_repair_pro.html

Many states have low or no interest loans and some even have grants that do not need to be paid back to help home owners who meet specific criteria make repairs as you describe.

If you provide your city and state, I can try to point you to specific places to contact.

Without specifics, I suggest contacting your State (if you are in the US) Congressperson or State Representative and asking him/her to meet with you to find resources that may be available.

Post back with more info and updates. Prayers for finding solutions!

I am looking for a grant or some type of program that will get my roof replaced and to get my bathroom floor replaced. I need a shower because after surgery I can not step over the tub to get into it. It's a long story, but I will try to let you know what happen. I was in a accident years ago when an eye beam went through my left leg and I didn't start having trouble with it again until 2017 from 1998.

In 2017 after I started having trouble with my left leg again I couldn't get a doctor to replace my hip due to infections, but I finally did in 2018. I have had my left hip replaced and my right knee, but here is the sad part I need my left knee done now and my right hip. So if anyone knows where I may be able to get some help please let me know. Thank you.

An employee from Daniel Parks Roofing came to my house on January the 30th and gave an estimate for a new roof the cost will be 10,500. I really need a new roof, it's leaking in three rooms in my house. He will also do my gutters. My gutters are included in the price so to do the new roof and gutters it will cost me 10, 500.

I need help with this. I don't work; I get disability because I'm on dialysis. Are there any grants or loans that I can apply to for help.
