Crocheted Flowering Dishcloth

A completed crocheted flowering dishcloth.Let's face it, doing the dishes and wiping the counters is no fun. I can't help enjoy it just a bit more when using a pretty, homemade dishcloth.

Total Time: 1 - 1 1/2 hours

Source: My inspiration was my "Super Stitches" crochet book

Supplies:

  • "I" crochet hook
  • tiny amount #4 worsted weight cotton yarn - "Peaches and Cream", color: "Rouge Red"
  • 1 oz #4 worsted weight cotton yarn - "Peaches and Cream", color: "Damask"
  • scissors
  • embroidery needle for weaving in ends

Steps:

  1. With your Rouge Red color, ch 5, join with a slip stitch in your first ch to make a ring.
  2. chain 5 and form ring
     
  3. Ch 7,
  4. chain 7
     
  5. 1 sc into your ring,
  6. sc in ring
     
  7. Ch 6, 1 sc into your ring.
  8. ch 6, sc in ring

  9. Repeat last step 5 times.
  10. repeat 5 times
     
  11. Slip stitch into the first ch you made in this round. End off with this color.

  13. Join your new color, Damask, with a slip stitch in the 3rd ch from your first round.

  17. Repeat last step 5 times.

  19. Ch 4, 2 sc in next chain 4 space, 1 sc in next sc.
  20. step 10
     
  21. Repeat last step 5 times.
  22. repeat 5 times
     
  23. Ch 4, 2 sc in next ch 4 space, 1 sc in each of the next 2 sc, skip 1 sc.
  24. step 12
     
  25. Repeat last step 5 times.
  26. repeat 5 times
     
  27. Ch 4, 2 sc in next ch 4 space, 1 sc in each of the next 3 sc, skip 1 sc.
  28. step 14

  29. Repeat last step 5 times.
  30. repeat 5 times
     
  31. You will now add 4 more rows, continuing in the same manner as the last row. Yet with each subsequent row, you will be adding 1 more sc on each side in between your chain space corners.
  32. At the end of your 4th additional row, you will have 2 sc in your ch 4 space, followed by seven sc, skip 1, etc.
  33. step 17
     
  34. Now you will ch 1, sc in the next sc, and 8 sc in the ch 4 space.

  36. You will proceed in this manner for this entire round. 1 sc in each sc, 8 sc in each ch 4 space.
  37. When you have reached your first sc, join with a slip stitch and end off.

  39. Don't forget to weave in those ends.
