Remedies for Damaged Hair

January 17, 2008

A woman looking at the ends of her damaged hair.Fabulous hair repair tip! Vitamin E capsules are a CHEAP and fantastic remedy for dry hair, split ends and damaged hair. Take about 20 or so capsules (depending on damage...mine was severe!) and cut them open with a pair of small scissors. Take the gel and put on the ends of your damaged hair. It is tedious and time consuming but it really works!

Continue until all ends are covered. Work the gel in well and leave on your hair for at least an hour. I left mine on 2 hours while I cleaned house. Then shampoo and style as usual. You won't believe the difference! Try it!

Damaged hair.I used Himalaya cream for reboding my hair. It looked great after that, but after washing I saw some layers were twisted so I visited a parlour. She again used chemicals to fix it. My problem started after that. My front hair become tight, rough, hard, and curly type. Please tell what I have to do. I have never used rebonding. I am so depressed.

To remedy any dryness in the hair from straightening, perming, coloring, bleaching, etc. try mixing your favorite hair conditioner with a teaspoon of olive oil or jojoba oil. Apply this to your hair while dry, cover with a shower cap and sleep on it.

How can I get my natural hair back after rebonding? I want to know how can I look good even if I'm still letting my natural hair grow back. I have black wavy hair that was rebonded and I want to get my natural hair back without any ugliness to show. You know, the baby hairs are standing up like antennae. Haha.

You have three choices:
1. Home box dyes, etc., can't give you what you want if your hair is already damaged.
2. Let your hair grow without any alterations and tough it out.

3. See a hair stylist to provide an opinion on what can be done.

Your best bet is to have a stylist work with your hair for a good result. But remember, your hair is already damaged so any stylist can only try to help from there.

According to Jethro Kloss, author of "Back to Eden: The Classic Guide to Herbal Medicine, Natural Foods, and Home Remedies Since 1939," combining whole eggs and coconut oil can help to soothe and repair burnt hair. This has not been FDA approved though.

Or you could try the following: a look at the following recipe:
Ingredients
1 ripe banana
1 tbsp olive oil
Steps
Add the banana and the olive oil in a container, blend thoroughly until you get a homogeneous paste with no lumps.
Massage it onto your head.
Leave to stand for 30 minutes.
Wash with water and use shampoo to make sure you get rid of the mixture.
Repeat this process every other day for a month to see results. As you know, olive oil is a great moisturizer and the magnificent properties of banana will give you the vitamin C and antioxidants your hair needs to come back to life.

A healthy diet they always say is key. Try to let your natural beauty shine through. You are perfect just the way you are.

Dyed my hair about 2 months ago and straight permed it last night and now its falling out! I put blonde high lights in my hair in April and just put a relaxer in my hair last night. My hair is super elasticy and breaks when I brush it. It also feels almost like I have bad leave in shampoo in it. It feels dirty and is frizzy.

I'm too afraid to brush it because I don't wanna lose more, but I have to. I've heard to not use shampoo and get Moroccan oil and deep conditioners and use egg. I really, really don't wanna cut it. Does anyone know about how long it takes to fix this if I take good care of my hair? Any other ideas? I'm desperate!

I've done the same thing. My hair was down my shoulders and had to cut it off because of killing it with to many chemicals. Try olive oils treatments or mayo with olive oil. Leave it in overnight. I've done it 3 nights in a row and my hair is healthier looking/feeling with less breakage. I've also heard beer is good too but never tried it. Just wash, condition and use leave in conditioner during the day. Good luck!

Someone gave me this tip many years ago as my hair was falling out but since I have been taking Vitamin E and it sure has helped me. Ask your doctor if you can take Vitamin E before taking it. Also give it time it works slowly, but does work. Good Luck

My hair has become damaged due to chemicals used for straightening. The roots of my hair have become so dry and brittle that when I touch them with my fingers it feels like I've been pricked by a thorn. Please give me some tips to regain my natural hair.

Damaged hair needs oils to protect it while new, healthier hair grows in. The simplest is mayonnaise - rub a handful of mayo into your hair and let it sit for a half hour or so and then wash it out. This makes the bathtub slippery, so be careful.

You can also apply any liquid vegetable oil. It's also important to eat healthy oils and proteins to bring in healthy new growth of hair.

I have rebond my hair once a year for the past few years. I can't just cut it without re-bonding, because then my hair becomes frizzy at the place where I tie my hair.

I really want to break out of this rebonding cycle. I just want to cut my hair without having to worry about the permanent zig zag mark; it doesn't go away after I wash my hair. Please help.
