As a fix, I have rubbed a #2 pencil on the zipper. It sometimes does the trick. Also you can try rubbing the zipper with bar soap. Anything is worth a try so you won't have to replace the zipper.

I have a couple of pairs of jeans with zippers that are difficult to zip up. They do not zip as smoothly as they used to. I took an old tapered candle and rubbed it up and down both sides of the zipper to coat the metal teeth. Zips so much easier now!
You know those zippers you have (usually on jeans) that just don't want to stay up no matter what? Paint the zipper teeth with clear nail polish.
What's the easiest way to repair a broken zipper for jeans?

There really isn't an easy way to that, you pretty much just have to buy a replacement zipper and either sew it in yourself or have someone else do it.
Take the pull thingy right to the bottom of the zip and using your sissors snip the teeth of the zip on the opposite side, slide the pull gently into the teeth and pull up~now you have a working zip again.
I have a favorite pair of jeans but the zipper will not stay up. It goes up but when I move or bend down it goes down.
